All of these hikes are just a few minutes from home for those living in Lower Merion. My younger brother has been hiking them since he was 3 or 4 years old. Click on the trail name for more information.

McKaig Nature Center

McKaig Nature Center has some of the best easy hikes around, with great creek access and a range of difficulties. These range from a stroll along a creek to an exciting steep switchback trail. Everyone should at some point get out and try them all!

Skunk Hollow

This is another park with outstanding creek access. From a giant rock to a creek crossing to a metal bridge, hiking these trails is sure to amaze. There is parking and entry from the Willows Park in Radnor Township.

Henry Lane Park

This is a great park, with a fun uphill climb and an impressive waterfall. Parking and entry at Richie Ashburn Park in Gladwyne. Trail entry is across the street.

Rolling Hill Park

This park is true to its name with a steep hill leading down to - you guessed it - yet another creek. If it's your first time to this trail, I highly suggest going all the way down to the creek, it's definitely worth it, and way more exciting than staying at the top.

Saunder's Woods

This is a short loop, but very fun and pleasant when you take it slow. Once again, you can probably guess what I'm going to tell you about. Yup, great creek access. Even though this creek is little more than a trickle of water, it still has has a peaceful feeling and is surrounded in visually appealing green colored moss.

Here are 5 fun hikes for all ages
