Hiking With Kids
Lower Merion
Ticks and Poison Ivy
It's good to be aware of these things, but don't let them stop you from heading out on the trail.
Poison ivy is a vine that cause itchy rashes. Its distinctive three-leafed pattern is the basis for the saying, "Leaves of three, let it be."

Ticks are common in Pennsylvania, and deer ticks carry Lyme disease. This shouldn't stop you from going out on a hike, however. Just make sure to do a thorough tick-check after every hike.
